লাইফাই কি? (What is Li-Fi)

লাইফাই এর পূর্ণরুপ হল লাইট ফিডেলিটি (Light Fidelity), যা একটি তার বিহীন অপটিক্যাল নেটওয়ার্কিং প্রযুক্তি। এটা লাইট বা বাতির মাধ্যমে ডেটা আদান-প্রদান করে।

প্রফেসর হেরাল্ড হার লাইফাই এর উদ্ভাবক, তিনি সর্বপ্রথম 2011 সালে লাইফাই কে সবার সামনে তুলে ধরেন। তিনি সবাইকে দেখিয়েছেন যে কিভাবে একটি লাইট বা আলোর সাহায্যে যোগাযোগ স্থাপন করা যায়। পরবর্তীতে তিনি লাইফাই কে আরও উন্নত করার জন্য একটি কোম্পানি গড়ে তোলেন যার নাম পিওর লাইফাই যদিও বর্তমানে লাইফাই নিয়ে অনেকগুলো কোম্পানি কাজ করছে।

এখন আমাদের ঘরের লাইট বাল্ব শুধু আলোই দিবেনা সাথে ইন্টারনেট সংযোগও প্রদান করবে। এখন অনেকের মনে প্রশ্ন জাগতে পারে তাহলে লাইট বন্ধ করে দিলে তো ইন্টারনেটও চলে যাবে কিন্তু বিষয়টা সে রকম নয় প্রয়োজনমতো লাইফাই এর আলোর তীব্রতা এতটাই কমানো যাবে যে খালি চোখে আপনি কোন আলোই দেখবেন না কিন্তু ইন্টারনেট সংযোগ চালু থাকবে।

লাইফাই কিভাবে কাজ করে?

একটা উদাহরন দিলে আপনাদের বুঝতে সুবিধা হবে আপনারা দেখেছেন যে টিভির রিমোটের সামনে একটি লাইট লাগানো থাকে যাকে ইনফারেড বাল্ব বলা হয় আর এর সাহায্যে টিভিতে সিগন্যাল প্রেরণ করা হয় এবং টিভিতে থাকা সেন্সর সেটা বুঝে সে অনুযায়ী কাজ করে আর এই লাইফাই প্রযুক্তি ঠিক একই ভাবে কাজ করে। লাইফাই আলোর মাধ্যমে তথ্য আদান প্রদান করে এবং এর ফ্রিকোয়েন্সি অনেক বেশি হওয়ায় একসাথে অনেক জন নির্বিঘ্নে এটি ব্যবহার করতে পারবে।

লাইফাই কবে আসবে?

ইতিমধ্যে পৃথিবীর উন্নত দেশগুলোতে লাইফাই প্রযুক্তির ব্যবহার হচ্ছে এবং ধারণা করা হচ্ছে খুব শীঘ্রই এটি সাধারণ মানুষের কাছে চলে আসবে কিন্তু আপনি লাইফাই ব্যবহার করতে পারবেন না কারণ লাই ফাই ব্যবহার করতে হলে লাইফাই সাপোর্টেড ফোন থাকতে হবে।

লাইফাই ও ওয়াইফাই এর মধ্যে পার্থক্য

বর্তমান ইন্টারনেট ব্যবস্থার প্রায় 60% তথ্য আদান প্রদান করা হয় এই ওয়াই-ফাই প্রযুক্তির মাধ্যমে, আর ওয়াইফাই যেহেতু অপটিক্যাল ফাইবারের কাচের মাধ্যমে প্রবাহিত হয় তাই এর গতি প্রায় 40 শতাংশ কমে যায়। তাছাড়া এর দুর্বল নিরাপত্তা ও ব্যবহারে বেশ কিছু জটিলতা রয়েছে আর এই সব সমস্যা সমাধান করার জন্যই উদ্ভাবন করা হয়েছে লাইফাই প্রযুক্তি, যার সাহায্যে আমরা লাইট বা বাতির মাধ্যমে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহার করতে পারব। আর লাইফাই সাধারণ ওয়াইফাই এর তুলনায় প্রায় 100 গুণ দ্রুত গতিসম্পন্ন। লাইফাই এ সর্বোচ্চ গতিতে আপনি 2gb সাইজের 13 টি মুভি ডাউনলোড করতে পারবেন
